I feel like a hypocrite, but you should look into all the dangers of tanning. At least make sure you're aware of the potential damage that can be done. Yes, tanning dries out your skin and will usually prevent breakouts. It also evens out the skin tone to minimize the appearance of blemish scars. However, this is only while you're tanning. About a month after you stop, your skin will likely flare up, as your pores are trying to compensate from being dried out. As for using acne medication while tanning: it depends on the kind of medication. If it is an oral medication, do NOT tan. Most topical medications also contain warnings about tanning. It can cause chemical burns or other permanent damage. I think you should pick one or the other: tanning or acne medicine. Obviously the medication is the healthier and safer choice, but if you must tan, don't go overboard. Once session a week should be enough to clear up your skin. |
